The StarMax Starlink Mini Roof Mount Kit is a three-part mounting system for the Starlink Mini: a hard armor case that encloses the dish, a three-piece bracket set that fixes the case to a roof rack or crossbars, and a cable caddy for the Starlink cable. It is designed for vehicles in motion — 4x4, overland, camper van, RV, boat and yacht — where a dish standing on its factory kickstand is exposed to impact, vibration and road debris.
What is in the kit
- Armor case — hard shell that holds the Starlink Mini, with a cutout that clears the original kickstand mount and the cable entry.
- Three-piece bracket set — two outer mounting feet plus a centre connecting piece that sets the spacing between them.
- Cable caddy — winds and holds the Starlink cable so it does not tangle or chafe in transit.

When you need this kit
Fit this kit if you run a Starlink Mini on a moving vehicle and the factory kickstand is not holding up: the dish shifts or lifts at highway speed, you are on corrugated dirt roads or a wake-slapped deck, low branches and stone chips are hitting the dish face, or you want the dish permanently mounted instead of set up and packed away at every stop.

Frequently asked questions
Does the case affect signal or performance?
No. We tested this extensively on live Starlink Mini units before release: with the dish in the case, throughput and the obstruction readings in the Starlink app matched the same dish mounted without it. The case is designed so the signal path is not blocked, and we would tell you if it cost you performance.
Does the Starlink Mini overheat inside the case?
No. The case is printed in a thermally conductive material, so it moves heat away rather than trapping it, and in our own testing the Mini showed no additional heat build-up inside the case compared with running uncased.
What is the difference between the two bolt patterns?
Twin Holes gives two fixed round holes per foot. Adjustable Slot gives an elongated slot so the bolt position can shift to line up with holes already in your rack. Strength and fit are otherwise identical — choose Adjustable Slot if you are mounting to an existing rack you cannot re-drill.
Is the orange version weaker than the grey?
No. Grey and orange are the same part in the same material; only the pigment differs. Orange stays visible against dark roofs and racks.
Is this a genuine Starlink part?
No, and we do not claim it is. This is an original StarMax design, made by us, for use with the Starlink Mini. StarMax is not affiliated with SpaceX or Starlink.
Can I keep using the original kickstand?
