When should you choose a pipe adapter?
Choose the pipe adapter if you want the dish permanently mounted rather than standing free; if wind keeps moving or toppling a dish on its kickstand; if you are fitting a J-mount, wall pole or roof pole; if you need the dish higher to clear trees or a roofline; or if the original adapter cracked or was lost.
What is included
Included: 1 × genuine Starlink pipe adapter (04-176000-501). 1 × hex key.
Not included: the pole or pipe, the Starlink dish, cables, or the folding kickstand. This adapter attaches to a pole you already have; it does not come with one.
Frequently asked questions
What size pole does it fit?
Metal poles from 31 mm to 50.8 mm (1.25 to 2 in) in outside diameter, with a wall at least 3.6 mm thick. Common J-mounts and 1.5-inch poles sit comfortably in that range.
Can I use it on a PVC pipe?
No. It is specified for metal pipe only. The clamp screw needs something rigid to bite against, and plastic pipe deforms and eventually lets the dish rotate.
Is this the genuine Starlink part or an aftermarket copy?
Genuine. The part number 04-176000-501 is moulded into the body and photographed on this page. Aftermarket aluminium copies are widely sold and are not the same part.
Does it come with a pole?
No. It clamps to a pole you already have or buy separately.
Will it fit my Gen 2 rectangular dish?
No. The Gen 2 dish uses a completely different mounting interface.
Do I need tools?
Only the supplied hex key.
Should I choose this or the folding kickstand?
The kickstand stands the dish on a flat surface and can be moved in seconds. The pipe adapter fixes it to a pole permanently and survives wind that would topple a free-standing dish. If your dish has blown over even once, the adapter is the answer.
